Our late-dropping version of the Sawtooth Oak. We have hunted over this tree for years, and it is a dynamite in mid-to-late October when all the other Sawtooths have finished dropping and the water oaks haven’t really started yet. Precocious, hard, fast growing with few pest problems; this tree is a good bearer, producing gobbler-size acorns every year. In order to keep drop time true to the parent attributes, we have to graft or bud these trees directly from the parent…which has proven to be difficult and costly.
